Hi, I’m Kate!
Born and raised in Orange County, California, I have always been influenced by the art around me. From my Puerto-Rican, Colombian-Irish background, I was introduced to a diverse palette of films, theatre, art, and love. Starting with a musical theatre camp in the third grade, I fell in love with the art of live theatre. My work led me to the University of California, Irvine, where I am currently earning a BFA in Music Theatre and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
I started my professional career at the New Swan Shakespeare Festival in Irvine, CA, where I was part of their 2024 and 2025 acting company. As a pilot member of the Swan’s acting apprenticeship program, I was able to act in repertory with the company as well as learn from industry professionals. Our productions were acclaimed by the LA Times, Orange Curtain Review, OC Register, and more. At UCI, I performed in many productions, including tick, tick…BOOM!, Little Women, 9 to 5, and Dance Nation.
At the Swan, I also got my start in photography, marketing, and social media management as a media apprentice and associate. My work has led me to South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA, where I currently serve as a rotational intern for the company. At SCR i’ve worked on many exciting projects, including the marketing for the launch of the UCI x SCR The Next Stage Program, and helped plan and run sensory-friendly performances of A Christmas Carol and Cinderella: A Salsa Fairytale. I always love the challenge of creativity and working with a team to support the “why” behind my personal and the company's mission. I plan to continue my work in performance and marketing after I graduate.
Outside of work, I love finding California’s best coffee shops, playing guitar, or hanging out with my Golden Retriever, Finn.
